Lessons

I am learning that pregnancy actually might be the most perfectly profound preparation for having babies.

1. You start slowly adjusting to sleep deprivation. (as for me I have to sleep almost sitting up so you can imagine how that's going...)

2. You learn to delay gratification. (If I do too many errands at once my ribs start aching and I end up truly regretting it--so it's all about the online shopping now!!)

3. You visit a lot of strange bathrooms.

4. You're ready for bed much earlier than previously.

5. You have to make a lot of really important decisions. ( for now it's only about strollers but soon it will actually be about two little people!!)

I am also learning about the importance of listening to my body by cutting back my commitments and resting when I get tired. This is not something I was particularly good at before. The best thing is that when I do listen-- I am rewarded by feeling so GOOD! The minute I start to feel exhausted and as if my belly is taking over my body (which has happened believe me!) all I have to do is stop and rest (and cut things from my schedule) and I go back to barely even noticing it (mostly).

Thank you babies for teaching me about taking care of myself! :)

  1. Good for you for learning how important it is to take care of yourself! It is equally important to learn how to let OTHERS take care of you. =)
