Peas in a Pod or Peas on a Plant

"...So we grew together
Like to a double cherry, seeming parted,
But yet an union in partition,
Two lovely berries moulded on one stem..."
~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

The question of "zygosity" is certainly a popular one. One zygote (or egg) indicates identical twins and two indicates fraternal twins. The results of our placental pathology report are still inconclusive and only a DNA test can rule out fraternal identity.

I can see the differences between my daughters' faces, but their eyes and hair and body sizes are so similar, I certainly wonder. When I look back at photos from the past year, I often can not distinguish them from each other...

Here is an emotional story of two brothers who took their question to the scientific level. Plus, you can view photos of twin sets and share your vote based on how they look. The results may surprise you!

How would you vote on Charlotte and Bellina...?

  1. I used to think it was obvious they were fraternal but as they've aged, it has become increasingly difficult to tell who is who!

  3. I definitely think it has become harder to tell who is who. When they were smaller I could see differences... now? Not so much!
