Ode to Joy

Joyful Joyful is the feeling
When I think of all my husband does
He does the cooking and the cleaning
He makes sure I have clean clothes

He takes a thousand shopping trips for groceries and ice cream cravings
He returns the things I've bought online when my reviews aren't raving
He puts up with obnoxious snoring and lets me hog the bed
He wakes up in the dead of night when I urgently need to be fed

He rubs my feet and back and arms and hands
He listens and he understands
He tells me that he thinks I'm strong and I can tell he really does
He helps me get the things I drop when I can't grab them with my toes

He makes me laugh and lets me cry
He takes me for midnight walks and drives
He is going to be a kind and loving father
He will help me be a good mother.

He is the man behind the page
The reason I can have such grace
He helps me take each day in stride
He is the Love of my life.

Thank you, Matt. I know this is so cheesy...but thank you for giving me moments I want to be present in and being in them with me. I can't wait for our children to be born and to become a parent with you. I love you.

  1. aww, that made me cry, Lorissa. I've been thoroughly enjoying reading your blog. I'm so sorry it's been so rough towards the end, but thankful you have such incredible support at your side!

  2. I cried too! So sweet. :)

Hey, it just hit me that I've been reading a blog of a twin-mommy for a while, and she's also in Colorado (the Springs area). I went to college with her, and I told her to come visit your page. Her two daughters are almost two now, and she's expecting another in November. :) Anyway, her name is Heather and she's always given me wonderful mommy advice. I thought you might want to check out her blog--maybe give you something to do.

    Love you!

Above all, enjoy those babies! They're so much fun!
